Funds for Graduate Conferences in Art History

The School of Art and Art History has a small fund available to art history graduate students wishing to give papers at conferences each academic year. The funds can be used to defray costs of travel and conference registration.

The money is available on a first-come, first-served basis. In general, students who are giving papers will have priority, but if a good case can be made for the relevance of a given conference to thesis research, it will be taken into consideration.

Once a paper has been accepted, submit an application to Professor Szépe, M.A. Coordinator, consisting of a budget, a very brief statement about your interest in the conference, and your abstract. The art history faculty will make decisions about distributing amounts among those who apply.

Conference Presentation Grant Program (CPGP)

The USF Graduate & Professional Student Organization (GPSO) sponsors the Conference Presentation Grant Program (CPGP), which provides graduate students with funding up to $300 for presentations at professional conferences. For more information, visit the GPSO website at: http://www.gpso.usf.edu.

It is never too early in the academic year to apply for conference funding: the grants are given out on a first-come-first-serve basis. Turn in your application as early as possible, regardless of when you are traveling.
