Drawing as Printmaking:  This course is a special topics concentration in printmaking that explores the drawing capabilities of print media. The drawing sensibility can be realized through the compelling qualities of printed line, tone and texture. Students will learn the print forms of intaglio, relief and lithography including correlate histories and conceptual hallmarks. These mediums are taught as concentrations in alternating semesters.

Painterly Printmaking:  This course is a special topics concentration in printmaking that explores the painterly capabilities of print media. The painting sensibility can be realized through the compelling qualities of printed color, layers and surfaces. Students will learn the print forms of screenprint, collagraph and monotype including correlate histories and conceptual hallmarks. These mediums are taught as concentrations in alternating semesters.

Posters in Action:   This course is a special topics concentration in printmaking that explores poster production and history.  Students learn the socially active component of printmaking as a democratic medium. Students will learn digital pre-press design, production and poster distribution.

Collaborative Workshop:  This course is a special topics concentration in the collaborative activities of printmaking.  Students learn the technical, historical and conceptual aspects of collaborating with visiting artists in the production of limited edition prints.
